Demanding immediate action to protect their rights and ensure their security, members of the the country‍‍`s Hindu community held protests in the capital‍‍`s Shahbagh area for the second consecutive day on Saturday.

They blocked the road in Shahbagh, condemning the recent wave of vandalism, arson, and looting targeting Hindu properties. The protest highlighted ongoing concerns about the safety and treatment of minority communities in Bangladesh.

The protesters held several placards and banners and chanted various slogans while pressing for their four-point list of demands and the safety of the Hindu minorities.

Earlier on Friday, they blocked the Shahbagh intersection from 3:30pm to 7:15pm, holding a protest that lasted nearly four hours when Hindu community leaders called for increased representation in policy-making and the establishment of a dedicated ministry for minority affairs.

They also demanded the creation of a minority protection commission and the enactment of strict laws to prevent violence against minorities. One of the key demands was the allocation of 10 percent of parliamentary seats to minority groups.
