The book Prem Puran, or "love myth" in English, written by well-known television personality and popular host Syed Ashik Rahman, has been published in Amar Ekushey Book Fair in 2024.
On Monday, February 12, 2024, the unveiling and inauguration ceremony took place at Bangla Academy premises. Honorable deputy speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Shamsul Haque Tuku was the chief guest in the occasion.
Bengal Multimedia Ltd. published the novel "Prem Puran" ahead of Valentine`s Day, when lovers would be exchanging presents and greetings to show their affection. The book is currently on sale as of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair`s opening day at the Behula Bangla-stall, stall numbers 224–225.
It is noteworthy that the novel "Prem Puran" indicates an extraordinary tale of love, and that the author, Syed Ashik Rahman, drew an unlikely pen portrait of a tragic tale of a girl whose marriage fell apart when her prospective husband`s family discovered she was from a Vede Sampraday (community).
The novel`s love story is symbolic of the middle-class or upper-class family or the elite class community in the modern era. In the majority of instances, readers are left with little choice but to read the tale of love between those classes. Many, however, are unaware that love stories also exist in lower-class families and abandoned communities, such as Vede Sampraday. For this reason, the author included that love tale in his debut book so that readers of today may recognize it as real.
Notebly Syed Ashik Rahman also serves as the host and moderator of several famous talk shows on the satellite TV station RTV, including Star of Politics, Business Talk, Diplomatic Zone, Unnayane Bangladesh (Bangladesh in development), and Kemon Chai Bangladesh (What kind of Bangladesh do we want?). Since 2018, he has also significantly impacted the film industry.
He produced Leader: Amie Bangladesh in 2023 while working for Bengal Multimedia. Tapu Khan directed the film. Shakib Khan and Amy Bubley appeared in the hugely successful film.
