Cumilla temple vandalism case: 17 accused placed on remand

Court has granted police 5-day remand to interrogate 17 accused in Cumilla puja mandap vandalism case. 

Police asked for 7-day remand to question the accused on Wednesday (November 3) at the Cumilla Cheif Judicial Magistrate Court, wherein Magistrate Chandan Kanti Nath granted 5 days of remand to police. 

Cumilla court inspector Salauddin Al Mahmud confirmed the matter to the court. He said, 18 accused were presented before Cumilla Cheif Judicial Magistrate Court in connection with attacks on a Hindu temple amid Durga Puja.

Police sought 7 days remand to interrogate them. One of the accused being a minor was not placed on remand by court. The court's decision regarding the minor could not be known immediately.
