Number of dengue patients continues rising in capital Dhaka while the infection in coronavirus decreases progressively.
As many as 80 children were admitted to Dhaka Children Hospital with dengue contamination in last 24 hours.
Some 10 children are undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.
Director of the hospital Doctor Shafi Ahmed confirmed the matter to media on Saturday (August 21).
“More dengue patients are hospitalised this year in comparison to last year. Maximum 80 kids were admitted to Dhaka Shishu Hospital in a single day,” Shafi Ahmed said.
He said, breeding of Aedes mosquito has increased this year as pile of wastes, drains are not cleaned during the monsoon. If the city is kept neat and clean the spread of mosquito-borne disease can be checked.
Sources said, hospitalization rate has exceeded all previous records. A total of 232 patients were admitted to the hospital till the date.
