All industrial factories to remain close from July 23

All Readymade Garment factories, which are open in ongoing stricter lockdown, will remain closed for two weeks starting from 6am July 23 to August 5 midnight.   

The decision has been disclosed through a gazette notification issued by the cabinet division on Tuesday (July 13).

A total of 23 directives have been mentioned in the gazette signed by cabinet division deputy secretary Md. Rezaul Karim. “All type of industrial factories will remain closed,” number 5 instruction directs.

Chief Information officer Suroth Kumar Sarker of the secretariat also confirmed the matter while talking to The Report on Tuesday.

“A new issue has been incorporated to the notification. All factories will remain closed from 6am July 23 to 12am August 5,” he said.

In a bid to keep the socio-economic and economic wheel moving on, government announced to relax the lockdown allowing public movement in compliance with safety guidelines taking into consideration the interests of cattle traders and shopping mall owners ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

Movement of public transport will resume for 8 days. Private offices will remain closed while the government offices will run virtually.  

Earlier, the government imposed a weeklong shutdown from July 1 after the coronavirus infection spread alarmingly. Later, the restrictions were extended till July 14 midnight.
