The Government of Bangladesh has advised its citizens residing in Iran to relocate to safer areas due to potential security threats arising from the ongoing Israeli attacks.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, June 17, during a briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka.
Acting Foreign Secretary Ruhul Alam Siddiqui stated that the situation for Bangladeshis in Iran is becoming increasingly dangerous.
Many have already moved to safer places on their own initiative, while others have been strongly urged by the government to do the same.
Despite the heightened security risks, the Bangladesh Embassy in Tehran remains operational and continues to provide necessary assistance to the nationals staying in Iran.
Additionally, the Government of Bangladesh has activated emergency hotlines to offer urgent support to Bangladeshis currently in Iran.
The embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka have provided separate hotline numbers to ensure prompt communication and assistance in emergency situations.
