Police have recovered body of a student named after Mehebullah Tousif (21) from a residential building at Mohanagar project in the capital.
The deceased was identified as a student of the department of Management in Jagannath University.
Police recovered the body around 1 am Tuesday night and sent the body at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.
“On information, we recovered Tousif’s body from his Mohanagar project residence. His body was hung with ceiling fan,” said Md. Nazrul islam, sub-inspector of Hatirjheel police station.
Quoting family of the deceased the police official said, “Tousif committed suicide. We can disclose details once we get the post mortem report.”
Tousif’s elder brother Mirazul Islam said, “Tousif was frustrated. But, he never told the reason of his frustration to anyone. He used to talk little. As a student, he was bright. He had hardly any friend. He came to Dhaka five days earlier on went to our uncle’s house at Mohanagar project. He was searching for a seat at a mess in Old Dhaka.”
