The founder of the Gonoshashthya Kendra and Freedom Fighter Dr. Zafrullah Chouwdhury was buried this afternoon Savar.
Around 2:30 pm, after his last Janaza at the PHA field, he was laid to rest near Suchona building on the premises of the Gonoshasthaya Kendra.
Chairperson of Gonoshasthaya Kendra's board of trustees Professor Altafunnesa, Trustee Sandhya Roy, Dr Abul Kashem Chowdhury and Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury's family along with Gonoshasthaya Kendra Chief Executive Manjur Kader Ahmed, and Press Adviser Muhammad Jahangir Alam were also present.
Along with them, thousands of people attended the Janaza and burial, including students, leaders and activists of political and social organizations and Gonoshasthaya Kendra employees.
Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury has died at the age of 81. He breathed his last at 10:40pm on Tuesday (April, 11).
He was admitted to Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital in the capital’s Dhanmondi area on April 4 as his health condition deteriorated.
