The rush for Eid travel has officially started today, Monday, as thousands of people head home for the holidays via train and bus.

Many of the passengers departing today had already booked their train tickets back on March 14, making today their day to leave Dhaka.

On the railway front, passengers have been leaving Dhaka without significant delays.

By morning, 4 out of 43 intercity trains had already left the capital, and train stations are relatively peaceful with a manageable crowd.

Despite some waiting on the platforms, travelers have expressed that the journey has been smooth and hassle-free.

According to the station authorities, everything has been prepared to ensure the trip goes off without a hitch, with trains departing on time, much to the relief of travelers.

Train services for Eid will continue until March 31, providing ample time for people to make their journey.

At the bus terminals in Dhaka, crowds of people heading home for Eid are starting to gather.

However, terminal authorities have noted that the real rush will begin on Thursday, the last working day of the week, when more people will start their Eid travels in full swing.
