Exodus of Dhaka-bound people has been prevailing since Saturday morning as government declared to reopen all factories from Sunday.
The decision ensued hundreds of thousands of Eid travelers to return back to Dhaka to join their respective workplaces.
On Friday, the cabinet division issued a gazette notification announcing reopening factories of export-oriented industries.
“All export related factories have been brought out of the coronavirus safety protocols from 6am August 1 considering the overall situation,” the gazette read.
The announcement resulted in an unprecedented influx of garment workers amid the grave concern of coronavirus infection across the country.
