Channel24, citing sources, on Friday (August 2) after 12:30 PM, the cache of Meta platform was stopped on the mobile network . Telegram has also been shut down on this network.
Internet speed was normal in the country from Thursday night. There are more than 12 crore mobile internet users in the country. If Facebook is blocked on mobile data, VPN usage will increase and it will affect internet speed.
Mobile internet and broadband internet were stopped from the night of July 17 and the night of July 18 when the violence started around the quota reform movement. Five days later on July 23, broadband internet connectivity returned to a limited extent.
After 10 days on July 28, mobile internet was launched. But the platforms Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram were closed. Apart from this, Tiktok is also closed. On the other hand, while YouTube was running on broadband connection, it was off on mobile data.
Social media platforms, including Facebook and WhatsApp, became accessible from around 2pm on July 31.
