During a discussion meeting organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League, held in front of the Awami League`s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader warned against the consequences of rejecting Indian products, highlighting their integral role in everyday life.
He also raised questions about Mirza Fakhrul`s involvement in the liberation war.
Quader questioned Fakhrul`s whereabouts and contributions during the 1971 war, emphasizing the significance of believing in the spirit of the liberation movement to be considered a genuine freedom fighter.
Asserting that those who do not uphold the principles of the liberation war cannot be true freedom fighters, Quader accused such individuals of obstructing the recognition of the 25th March genocide.
He criticized BNP, alleging that the party acts as a broker for Pakistan and accusing them of complicity in the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Quader also addressed BNP`s recent boycott of Indian products, challenging party members to inspect their homes for Indian goods.
Additionally, he cautioned against heated rhetoric, urging Fakhrul to refrain from following in the footsteps of BNP`s Rizvi Ahmed.
