Wastes of sacrificial animals will be removed within 24 hours, said Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh.
He said this while talking to newsmen at the national mosque Baitul Mukarram in the capital after offering Eid-ul-Adha prayer on Wednesday (July 21).
Vowing to give the residents a clean city the DSCC Mayor said, “I would like to request the city dwellers to observe the Eid-ul-Adha and slaughter cattle neatly. Our cleaning workers will start removing garbage today. You will hand over the wastes to them so that we can remove all the debris within 24 hours.”
Taposh urged all to act responsibly under the light of sacrifice which is the essence of Eid-ul-Adha.
Earlier on the day, the main Eid jamaat was held at the national mosque. Hafez Mawlana Md. Mizanur Rahman offered the prayer as Imam.
