However, at around 12 am, the gas supply has returned to normal condition, said the Managing Director of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, Harunur Rashid Mollah.
He told The Report.Live over the phone at around 10:15 am today, “The gas supply returned to normal after 12:00 am on Monday. Everything is fine now. Lighting the gas stove will not be a problem anymore.” He also said that gas supply is going on properly.
When asked about the reason for the spread of gas smell in different areas of the capital, the Managing Director of Titas said, "Many people have left the capital due to Eid-ul-Fitr. We started working after receiving the news at night. By 12 am everything was back to normal. It is not necessary to keep the stove off anymore.”
The news of the gas leak first came from the Rampura Bazar area. Residents call 999 and the police went on to the spot. According to the police, the smell of gas was found on the roads of Rampura's Mollabari, Rampura Bazar and Taltola areas.
