The interim government has ordered the authorities concerned to bear the cost of medical treatment for all students and civilians injured during the recent student movement, specifying that free treatment is being provided at government hospitals.
The Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare revealed the matter on Saturday.
The government also requested that private medical college hospitals, private hospitals, and clinics refrain from charging those injured in the anti-discrimination student movement.
If needed, the government will bear the expenses, the ministry said.
Some 650 were killed and thousands of protesters and bystanders have been injured in the protests waged by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, with hospitals overwhelmed by the influx of patients. a UN report said on Friday.
