A grand parade ceremony marking the completion of training for Assistant Superintendents of Police (Trainee) took place on Sunday, February 23, at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah, Rajshahi.

The event saw the participation of 60 trainees, including three from the 38th BCS (Police) batch and 57 from the 40th BCS (Police) batch.

The ceremony was graced by Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.), who inspected the parade.

Alongside him on stage were Baharul Alam, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), and Md. Masudur Rahman Bhuiyan, the Principal (Additional IGP) of the Bangladesh Police Academy.

In his address to the newly trained officers, the Home Affairs Advisor emphasized the importance of performing their duties with professionalism, sincerity, and responsibility.

He particularly stressed the need for them to ensure that citizens are not subjected to harassment at police stations, urging them to focus on building trust with the public.

He also encouraged the officers to carry the spirit of the recent anti-discrimination movements in July and August forward, a time when the country’s youth ignited a new wave of change.

The Advisor urged the officers to maintain the dignity and honor of the police force, emphasizing that they should not allow any political party’s unjust orders or agenda to dictate their actions.

He reminded the trainees to always act within the law and uphold professionalism, avoiding any form of illegal behavior.

“We must remember that the state of Bangladesh belongs to all its citizens, and not any one political party, group, or community,” said the Advisor.

“The Bangladesh Police are independent servants of the republic who follow specific laws. Your duty is to serve all citizens equally, ensuring their safety and upholding the rule of law without bias.”

He continued, stressing the need for officers to reject political interference and avoid any unlawful activities.

“As officers of the republic, you will work tirelessly for the security of all citizens, and you must never become a tool of any political party or their unjust directives,” he added. “Today, as you take part in this ceremony, I hope you will make a personal commitment to these values.”

The Advisor concluded by welcoming the newly trained officers to their professional journey.

“Through this training, you are now a skilled, intelligent, and dedicated group of police officers, ready to serve and make a difference. We trust you will work toward ensuring justice and the rule of law.”

The ceremony also saw the distribution of awards to the trainees who excelled in various areas throughout their training, marking the start of their promising careers in the police force.
