Intense heat is disrupting people's lives. The temperature of the country has exceeded 40 degrees Celsius. On Friday (April, 14) the first day of Baishakh the temperature was extremely high everywhere.
The Department of Meteorology has said that there is no sign of temperature drop in the next one week and no chance of rain. It may rain on Eid day or after Eid. There is no immediate relief from this intense heat wave.
In the latest information given around 10 am on Friday (April 14), the Meteorological Office said that the heat will continue throughout the first week of Baisakh. The temperature today will be higher than yesterday. Following that clouds might appear.
Most of the urban areas of the country, including Dhaka, are experiencing high temperatures due to the reduction of wetlands. Also, excessive use of air conditioners increases the heat.
Meanwhile, Chuadanga is burning due to continuous heat waves. This district has recorded the highest temperature in the country for 12 consecutive days. People's lives are getting miserable. Crops are also getting damaged.
The fear of heat stroke has increased due to the intense heat wave that is going on across the country. Children, the elderly and people with long-term illnesses are at a higher risk of heat stroke this summer. Doctors are advising to be careful with increased temperature.
