For the second consecutive day, students of Jagannath University (JnU) are continuing their protest to press home a three-point demand.
After protesting throughout Wednesday, students remained stationed at the Kakrail Mosque intersection into the night.
On Thursday (May 15) morning, more students joined the demonstrators already present near the residence of the Chief Adviser in Kakrail. Students were seen arriving in university buses to join the protest.

Meanwhile, students have erected barricades on the road from Matsya Bhaban to Kakrail, completely halting vehicular movement along this route.

Earlier, on Tuesday (May 13), a delegation comprising student and teacher representatives visited the University Grants Commission (UGC) to submit their demands. However, as no satisfactory response was received, students announced the "Long March to Jamuna" program. The initiative was declared by the ‘July Oikko’ platform, which includes various political, social, and cultural student organizations.
The following day (Wednesday, May 14), as students marched past Matsya Bhaban and reached the Kakrail Mosque intersection, clashes erupted between protesters and police. Several students were injured by police baton charges and tear gas, requiring hospital treatment.
