Jhenaidah-4 Member of Parliament (MP) Anwarul Azim Anar was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Kolkata, India, where he had gone for medical treatment. The incident has led to the detention of two individuals.

On Wednesday, May 22, Anar‍‍`s body was recovered from Newtown, Kolkata.

Anar had crossed the Darshana-Gede border into India on Sunday, May 12, at 2:40 PM. That evening, he arrived at the home of Gopal Biswas, a gold trader, located on Mondalpara Lane in the Barrackpore Commissionerate area of Kolkata.

The following day, at 1:40 PM, Anar was seen getting into a car in front of Bidhannagar Park Kolkata Public School, after walking from Biswas‍‍`s house. This sighting was reported by Biswas‍‍`s acquaintance, Subhojit Manna. That same night, Anar sent a message to Biswas‍‍`s WhatsApp, stating, "Not returning tonight, going to Delhi. Don‍‍`t call me anymore. I will call once I reach Delhi."

Three days later, on Wednesday, May 15, at 11:15 AM, Anar sent his final message to Biswas, informing him that he had reached Delhi and was with VIPs.

On Saturday, May 18, Gopal Biswas filed a written missing person report at the Baranagar Police Station in India, detailing these events.

This development has raised several questions, and the investigation is ongoing.
