After a four-month stay in London, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is set to return to Bangladesh next Monday.

She will land at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 9 a.m. on a regular Bangladesh Airlines flight and then head to Dhaka on the same flight.

Sylhet District BNP President Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury confirmed to media that Khaleda Zia will be traveling through Sylhet on her way to the capital.

He added that BNP has made elaborate arrangements to greet the former prime minister, with plans involving both party members and the general public.

Khaleda Zia will be accompanied by her two daughters-in-law, Zubaida Rahman and Sharmila Rahman. Also joining her are her personal physician Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, advisor Enamul Haque Chowdhury, APS Masudur Rahman, and two housekeepers—Fatema Begum and Rupa Haque.

Sylhet BNP leaders reported a wave of enthusiasm among party activists ahead of Khaleda Zia’s arrival. Senior leaders have called on party members, supporters, and citizens to gather in front of Sylhet airport by 8 a.m. on Monday to welcome the BNP chief.

On January 8, Khaleda was flown to London on a special air ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar for advanced treatment.

The 79-year-old former prime minister was admitted to the London Clinic, where she underwent 17 days of treatment
