Number of fatalities and infection in coronavirus is still on the rise despite stricter lockdown underway. On Tuesday (July 27), a total of 19 people died of the virus in last 24 hours in Kushtia.
Among the deceased 15 were detected positive for coronavirus while 4 were admitted to hospital with symptoms.
Kushtia district civil surgeon Doctor HM Anwarul Islam confirmed the information to The Report.
“All of them died from 8am Monday to 8am Tuesday while undergoing treatment at the Covid-19 dedicated hospital in the district,” he said.
Among 675 samples, 253 were tested positive in last 24 hours with an infection rate of 37.48 per cent, Anwarul Islam said.
The number of fatalities now stands at 523 in the districts while the total caseload reached at 13 thousand 675.
Meanwhile the office of the district surgeon said, some 83 thousand 981 samples were collected in Kushtia so far. There are 3 thousand 629 active patients in the district now. Out of them 199 are undergoing treatment at hospitals while 3 thousand 430 are in home isolation.
