Lockdown may be extended by a week, eased before Eid

The ongoing nationwide lockdown is likely to increase by another 7 days aiming to curb coronavirus infection.

However, the restrictions may be eased a bit considering the situation.

Experts have suggested to impose 2-week lockdown to curb the infection and 3-week to check the death rate, Government sources said.

Observing the ongoing pandemic situation, the authorities are planning to extend the curbing measures, the sources said.

Decision by Wednesday

Top braces of the government said, the decision will be taken within Wednesday. Army, BGB, police and Rab are working relentlessly to ensure proper implementation of the stricter Covid protocols that shut off private and public offices and public transports.

Alongside, the government also operating mobile court drive.

The stricter lockdown began on July 1 across the country.

On Sunday (July), Bangladesh recorded highest 153 single day Covid count.
