Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Monday said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is working to move the country forward by following the ideals and inspiration of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
He made the remarks after paying tribute at Nazrul’s grave on the campus of University of Dhaka on the occasion of the poet’s 127th birth anniversary.
Rizvi said Nazrul’s writings and songs inspired people during movements against oppression and fascism.
He said the poet’s message of equality, humanity and resistance continues to remain important in national life.
According to the BNP leader, Nazrul’s ideals also inspire efforts to implement the government’s promises and future plans.
Rizvi added that Nazrul’s contribution would continue to be remembered throughout the year as part of the birth anniversary celebrations.
