No service will be available without taking at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine, said Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md. Atiqul Ilam.
He came up with the remark while visiting the mass vaccination programme at Suchona Community Centre in capital’s Mohammedpur area on Saturday.
“The mass vaccination is underway. Many people refrained from receiving the vaccine saying that they lost their documents. Now, no paper is required. Shots can be taken if anyone has only a mobile number. Please, take the vaccine,” the mayor said.
Atiqul Islam said, if the stipulated time ends but there are vaccine seekers, they will be inoculated.
Mentioning a target of five lakh doses to be pushed today, Atiqul Islam said, “Health department set a target of 3.5 lakh shots. But, we think, the measures we have taken is sufficient to inoculate five lakh doses. We have adequate stocks of vaccine doses.”
