As many as 204 more dengue patients have been hospitalised across the country in last 24 hours taking the number of infected to 1 thousand 661 in first six days of the month of August.
Health department said, some 194 patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka city from 8am Friday to 8am Saturday while 10 outside Dhaka.
On July, the total number of dengue admission was 2 thousand 286 which is the highest in this year.
Dengue outbreak turned as deadly in the country in 2019. More than one lakh people were diagnosed with the infection in the year. However, the dengue infection witnessed a bit lower trend in 2020.
The deadly fever became a matter of grave concern this year amid the coronavirus pandemic. Number of patients has been continuing rising every day.
A total of 997 patients are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country while 958 of them are in Dhaka city alone. Some 4 thousand 319 people caught dengue fever this year. Out of them 3 thousand 312 recovered so far. Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) was reported 10 people to die in dengue infection.
