Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday personally inspected sacrificial waste removal operations in different parts of Dhaka to assess the progress of post-Eid-ul-Azha cleanup activities.
According to Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony, the prime minister began the visit around 4:00pm and drove himself through several areas of the capital to observe whether waste generated from Eid sacrifices was being removed properly.
Starting from his residence on Gulshan Avenue, Tarique Rahman travelled through key roads and neighbourhoods, including Gulshan-1, Hatirjheel, Rampura, Malibagh and Basabo.
His inspection route also covered Kamalapur, Sayedabad, Jatrabari, Dholai Khal, Dayaganj, Narinda and Ray Saheb Bazar, where he observed the condition of roads and sanitation activities.
The prime minister later travelled through Old Dhaka areas, including Court Road, Naya Bazar and Bangshal, before passing through Gulistan, Shahbagh, Elephant Road and the Dhaka University area.
The tour continued through New Market, Science Laboratory, Kalabagan and Mirpur Road before concluding via Shimanto Square, Jigatala, Road-27, Manik Mia Avenue and Mohakhali.
The visit came as city authorities continued large-scale waste management operations following Eid-ul-Azha, one of the busiest periods of the year for municipal sanitation services.
Officials said the inspection was aimed at ensuring that cleanup efforts were progressing smoothly and that residents were not facing inconvenience due to accumulated sacrificial waste.
