This price has come into effect from Monday (April, 10)

The sale price of fertilizers has been changed in response to the increase in fertilizer prices on the worldwide market in considering the present state of the world economy in order to maintain reasonable fertilizer import levels and ensure proper use.

The price hike has now increased from Tk 22 to Tk 27 per kg of urea and TSP, DAP from Tk 16 to Tk 21, MOP fertilizer price from Tk 15 to Tk 20.

The price of Urea and TSP has increased by Tk 5 to Tk 25 per kg, DAP to Tk 19 and MOP to Tk 18 per kg at the dealer level. Earlier Urea and TSP was for Tk 20, DAP Tk 14 and MOP Tk 13.

However, on April 3, the Minister of Agriculture, Abdur Razzak said that the price of fertilizer will not be increased this year. But within seven days, the price of fertilizer is increased.

On that day at the end of the meeting of the National Coordinating and Consultative Committee on Fertilizers, the Agriculture Minister said, "In the last four years, the Prime Minister has not increased the price of fertilizers even by a bit. The Ministry of Finance is repeatedly pressuring us to increase the price of fertilizer, we are not able to collect money, we are not able to provide you money. Prime Minister is determined for not increasing the price of fertilizer under any circumstances."
