Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has urged the transport owners and employees to refrain from charging extra fares to the Eid travelers for the sake of national interest.
Quader, also the general secretary of the ruling Awami League, came up with the remark while talking to the media after visiting Gabtoli Bus Terminal in the capital on Friday.
The minister directed all convened of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) as well as the law enforcers to strictly monitor the process so the passengers do not face hassle.
Wishing the holidaymakers a safe journey Obaidul Quader said that the scenario on highways is better than any other previous year.
