Six bodies found in Kashimpur jail

The bodies of six prisoners have been recovered from Kashimpur High Security Central Jail in Gazipur, from where 209 inmates have fled amid reports of violence in the aftermath of Sheikh Hasina‍‍`s fall. 

Their bodies are currently in the mortuary of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital, Gazipur.

These bodies were seen in the morgue of the hospital at 5 pm on Wednesday.

However, their identity is not yet known.

The authorities believe that these deaths were caused by attacks inside and outside the prison on Tuesday.

Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital Emergency Department Officer Abul Fazal said that the six bodies were brought to the hospital from Kashimpur Jail around 4am on Wednesday.

Kashimpur High Security Central Jail Senior Jail Superintendent Subrata Kumar Pal was called several times but he did not pick up.

It has been reported that several attacks took place at the entrance of Kashimpur High Security Central Jail from morning to night yesterday. Besides, the convicts inside the jail are trying to break out of the jail.
