BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is set to face the media this afternoon following the party’s landslide victory in the 13th parliamentary election.
The press conference will take place at 3:00 pm at Hotel InterContinental Dhaka, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said on Saturday.
This will be Tarique Rahman’s first press briefing since returning to Bangladesh after spending nearly one and a half decades abroad.
It also comes days after the Bangladesh Nationalist Party secured a sweeping win in the national polls.
According to unofficial results, the BNP won 209 seats in the election. Tarique Rahman himself was elected from two constituencies—Dhaka-17 and Bogura-6.
Senior leaders of the party, including members of the BNP Standing Committee, are expected to attend the press conference.
The event is likely to outline the party’s next steps following its decisive mandate from voters.
