Traffic pressure increased on the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge highway ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, with more than 53,000 vehicles crossing the bridge within 24 hours.
According to officials, toll collection during the period exceeded Tk 3.77 crore.
Data from the Jamuna Bridge Authority showed that 53,246 vehicles crossed the bridge between Sunday midnight and Monday midnight.
Among them, more than 32,000 vehicles travelled towards northern districts, generating nearly Tk 1.96 crore in tolls.
Meanwhile, over 21,000 vehicles entered Dhaka, contributing around Tk 1.81 crore in toll collection.
