The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has once again decided to reduce gold prices in the domestic market within just 24 hours. This time, the price of 22-carat gold has been cut by Tk 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the new price to Tk 242,495.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Wednesday morning, with the revised prices taking effect from 10:00 am the same day.
According to the statement, the price of pure gold (acid gold) has declined in the local market. Considering the overall situation, BAJUS has set new gold prices accordingly.
Under the new rates, the price per bhori stands at:
- 22-carat gold: Tk 242,495
- 21-carat gold: Tk 231,472
- 18-carat gold: Tk 198,405
- Traditional method gold: Tk 161,605
Previously, on April 28, BAJUS had also adjusted gold prices, reducing them by Tk 2,216 per bhori. At that time, the price of 22-carat gold was set at Tk 244,711 per bhori.
In that earlier revision:
- 21-carat gold was priced at Tk 233,572 per bhori
- 18-carat gold at Tk 200,213 per bhori
- Traditional gold at Tk 163,063 per bhori
Those rates had also come into effect from 10:00 am on the same day.
So far this year, gold prices in Bangladesh have been adjusted 58 times—32 increases and 26 decreases. In 2025, prices were revised a total of 93 times, with 64 increases and 29 decreases.
Despite the reduction in gold prices, silver prices remain unchanged. Currently, per bhori prices are:
- 22-carat silver: Tk 5,482
- 21-carat silver: Tk 5,190
- 18-carat silver: Tk 4,491
- Traditional silver: Tk 3,383
This year, silver prices have been adjusted 36 times—19 increases and 17 decreases. In 2025, silver prices were revised 13 times, with 10 increases and 3 decreases.
