Gold prices have been lowered in the local market, with the rate of 22-carat gold reduced by Tk3,266 per bhori, according to the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association.

Under the new pricing, 22-carat gold now stands at Tk246,927 per bhori (11.664 grams), following a decline in the price of pure gold in the domestic market.

Other categories have also seen reductions. The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk235,671 per bhori, while 18-carat gold now costs Tk202,020. Gold produced under the traditional method has been fixed at Tk164,521 per bhori.

The latest adjustment comes days after the association raised gold prices on April 15.

Industry data shows that gold prices have been revised frequently this year, reflecting volatility in the market.

Silver prices have also been reduced. The rate of 22-carat silver has been set at Tk5,715 per bhori, with similar cuts applied to other grades.

Market observers said the changes reflect broader trends in precious metal prices and local supply conditions.
