LPG price cut by Tk 357 for 12-kg cylinder

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the retail prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and autogas for consumers.

In a new announcement, the price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder has been cut by 357 taka, bringing it down to 1,528 taka, according to a notice issued on Thursday. The new prices take effect from Thursday evening.

BERC said the consumer price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder has been reduced from 1,885 taka to 1,528 taka. The price of autogas used in vehicles has also been reduced, with the cost per litre lowered from 86.93 taka to 70.40 taka.

The commission said the adjustment was made in line with changes in international LPG prices.

Previously, on June 2, the price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder had been reduced from 1,940 taka to 1,885 taka, with autogas prices also slightly lowered at the same time.

The latest price cut is expected to bring some relief to consumers and the transport sector, according to industry stakeholders.
