Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thundershowers in all divisions including Dhaka in 24 hours commencing 9am on Monday.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions; at many places over Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions,” said a met office update.
The country’s highest 111 mm of rainfall was recorded in Bagerhat’s Mongla in 24 hours till 6am on Monday.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, according to the BMD.
The country’s highest temperatures were recorded in Panchagarh’s Tetulia at 34.5 degree Celsius over the past 24 hours till 6pm Sunday while the lowest temperature was in Tangail and Rangamati at 24 degree Celsius respectively.
Meanwhile, a low pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay and adjoins the Southern part of Bangladesh.
The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Punjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, center of the low to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.
