India’s Kolkata and Iraq’s Baghdad got the second and third places with an AQI score of 220 and 218 respectively.
The AQI is based on five criteria pollutants -- Particulate Matter (PM10 and PM2.5), NO2, CO, SO2 and Ozone in Bangladesh.
Dhaka’s air quality usually turns unhealthy in winter and improves during the monsoon as it has long been grappling with air pollution issues.
