Two more children have died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours in Bangladesh, while another 1,085 children have been identified with measles or measles-like symptoms during the same period.
The information was released today (Friday) in the Directorate General of Health Services` (DGHS) regular measles situation report.
According to the report, since March 15 this year, 741 children have died with measles symptoms. During the same period, another 96 children died after laboratory tests confirmed measles infection. In total, 837 children have died from measles or measles-related symptoms so far.
According to DGHS data, 128,310 children have developed measles symptoms since March 15. Of them, 110,987 have been admitted to hospitals.
So far, 106,859 children have recovered and been discharged from hospital. During the same period, laboratory tests confirmed measles infection in 16,059 children, the DGHS said.
