4 more children die with measles-like symptoms in 24 hours

Four children with measles-like symptoms have died in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The information was disclosed in a regular measles-related press release issued by the agency on Wednesday.

The statement said that the total number of deaths linked to measles and measles-like symptoms in the country has now reached 661.

In a separate afternoon press release, the DGHS said that 111 people were newly confirmed to have measles in the past 24 hours, while 966 others showed symptoms of the disease. During the same period, 872 patients were admitted to hospitals and 906 were discharged.

According to DGHS data, a total of 88,895 suspected measles cases have been recorded since March 15. Of these, 10,634 cases have been confirmed. So far, 69,688 hospitalized patients have recovered and returned home.
