4 more children die with measles-like symptoms in 24 hours

Four more children have died with measles-like symptoms in the country over the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The information was disclosed in the agency’s regular press release on Friday.

It said that between Thursday 8:00 a.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m., four children died showing symptoms consistent with measles. However, no deaths from confirmed measles cases were reported during this period.

Since March 15, a total of 609 children have died with measles-like symptoms nationwide. In addition, 93 children have died after being confirmed as measles cases, bringing the combined death toll from measles and suspected measles to 702.
