Six children have died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours in the country, while new infections and suspected cases have also risen significantly.
In a press release on Monday, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said that from March 15 to May 11 morning, a total of 65 confirmed deaths from measles have been recorded nationwide.
During the same period, deaths with suspected measles symptoms have risen to 350.
The statement also said that the total number of confirmed Measles cases in the country has reached 6,937 so far. In addition, the number of suspected cases has increased to 50,500.
According to health authorities, a total of 35,980 patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country with suspected measles since March 15. Of them, 31,992 have recovered and been discharged after treatment.
