Seven more children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms across the country over the past 24 hours, according to the latest measles situation report released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the DGHS, one child from Dhaka died from confirmed measles, while six others died after developing measles-like symptoms. Of those six, four were from Dhaka and two were from Sylhet.
With the latest fatalities, the total number of deaths linked to measles and measles-like symptoms this year has risen to 766. Of these, 95 were confirmed measles deaths, while 671 were deaths involving measles-like symptoms.
Meanwhile, 122 new measles cases were confirmed across the country in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections this year to 13,735.
During the same period, 868 more people developed measles-like symptoms, raising the total number of suspected cases nationwide to 113,244.
