Child deaths from measles and measles-like symptoms continue to rise in the country. In the past 24 hours, nine more children have died. Among them, three died from confirmed measles, while six died with measles-like symptoms, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During the same period, 1,105 suspected measles cases were detected nationwide. In addition, laboratory tests confirmed measles infection in 87 more children.
The information was released on Tuesday afternoon by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room.
The agency said the data covers the 24-hour period from 8:00 a.m. Monday (May 11) to 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.
