Doctors Launch Nationwide Strike Demanding Salary Increase
Interns and post-graduate doctors across Bangladesh have initiated a strike in all hospitals nationwide. The movement aims to persist until an official notification is issued, establishing a salary of 30,000 taka for interns and 50,000 taka for post-graduate doctors.
Speaking on behalf of the demonstrators, Dr. Aziz emphasized, "We are adamant about the 30,000 taka salary. Anything below that is unacceptable to us."
Highlighting the urgency of their demands, Dr. Aziz pointed out the unfulfilled promises made in 2020 regarding salary increments. He stressed the need for concrete actions rather than mere announcements to address the concerns of medical professionals.
