One more child has died with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, while 1,027 new suspected measles cases have been reported across the country. Of these, 126 cases have been laboratory-confirmed as measles.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.
According to DGHS data, a total of 643 people have died from measles or measles-related symptoms nationwide since March 15.
During the same period, the number of confirmed measles cases has risen to 10,185. Meanwhile, the total number of people showing signs or symptoms of measles has reached 84,266.
The health authority also reported that 68,934 patients with measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals across the country so far. Among them, 65,275 have recovered and been discharged after receiving treatment.
