One more child dies with measles-like symptoms in 24 hours

One more child has died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, while 1,032 people were reported to have measles or measles-like symptoms during the same period.

The information was disclosed in the latest measles situation update released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the DGHS statement, another death was reported among patients showing measles symptoms in the last 24 hours. However, no death has been confirmed to have been caused by measles.

The report also said that 213 children were diagnosed with measles in the past 24 hours, while 819 patients were reported to have measles-like symptoms. During the same period, 788 children were newly admitted to hospitals, and 782 children were discharged after receiving treatment.

According to DGHS data, from March 15 to July 7 this year, the total number of suspected measles cases in the country has reached 107,384. Meanwhile, the number of confirmed measles cases stands at 13,004.

During this period, a total of 90,522 patients were admitted to hospitals, of whom 86,844 recovered and were discharged after receiving treatment.
