A Bangladeshi woman recently graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration was found dead at her home in Serdang Perdana, Seri Kembangan of Malaysia, according to the New Straits Times.
Serdang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner A A Anbalagan said the police received a call from a man at 3.06pm yesterday regarding the woman.
"Investigations revealed that her husband tried to contact the 34-year-old Bangladeshi but failed.
"Preliminary investigations also found that the victim and her friends attended a dinner party before the incident.
"During the event, the woman looked a bit depressed and unlike her usual self," he said yesterday.
Anbalagan said she had informed one of her friends that she was not looking forward to returning to her hometown in Bangladesh.
"The woman`s mother has died, and only her father and husband are left in their hometown.
"The woman is said to be unhappy to return to her village due to personal reasons," he said.
"The police are still investigating to identify the cause of death. So far, police are still waiting for the autopsy report from the Serdang Hospital.
"The case is classified as sudden death (SDR)," he said.
