After taking office, President Donald Trump wasted no time in following through on his promise to crack down on illegal immigration.
Since his inauguration, more than 500 undocumented immigrants have been arrested, and hundreds have already been deported.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt shared the update with the public on Thursday through a post on social media platform X.
Trump has been firm on his stance to address illegal immigration, and his actions reflect this commitment.
Right after taking the oath of office, the President took immediate steps to begin a nationwide sweep to arrest undocumented immigrants.
These actions have led to numerous arrests across different states.
In her post on X, Levitt wrote,
"The Trump Administration also deported hundreds of illegal immigrant criminals via military aircraft. The largest massive deportation operation in history is well underway. Promises made. Promises kept.”
Since Trump became president, the U.S.-Mexico border has seen the declaration of a state of emergency, with reinforced security measures now in place.
The U.S. Border Authorities have also suspended a program that was granting legal status to some immigrants, as part of these new measures.
