Nine bodies have been recovered after a fire broke out at a garment factory and a chemical warehouse in Mirpur’s Shialbari area of Dhaka on Tuesday.
Fire Service and Civil Defence media cell official Talha Bin Jasim confirmed the information to media around 4:15 pm. He said the bodies will be handed over to the police for necessary legal procedures.
Twelve fire service units are currently working to bring the blaze under control, Talha Bin Jasim added.
The fire started at around 11:45 am today.
According to the Fire Service, the garment factory is a seven-storey building. The adjacent chemical warehouse contained bleaching powder, plastic materials, and hydrogen peroxide.
