Without solving the various complaints and obstacles of the passengers, E-ticketing is being launched in third phase.
E-ticketing system of 2,360 vehicles of 46 transport companies was introduced in the first and second phase to minimize various irregularities including additional fare collection in Dhaka city and outskirts.
Bus owners announced the third round of e-ticketing through a press conference at the central office of the Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association on Tuesday.
Secretary General of Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association, Khandkar Enayet Ullah said, there are various problems in the previous initiatives.
“Besides solving them, we are looking at other issues. This is our effort to solve the problem and increase quality the service,” he added.
He also said that e-ticketing system has been implemented in 70 to 75 percent of vehicles.
As many as nine special checkers assigned to the nine vigilance team of Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association who are monitoring the road every day with the aim of enforcing the system in the remaining vehicles.
“Organizational measures will be taken against those vehicles that are still irregular,” Enayet added.
In the 3rd phase, the e-ticketing system will be introduced in a total of 947 vehicles of 13 transport companies from March 1.
