When asked whether the Metrorail will continue operating as usual during the shutdown called by the agitators, the secretary the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), Mohammad Abdur Rauf, told the media that their decision is to continue the service.

"Time will tell the rest," he said.

Responding to a question if he would make a decision to stop the service in case there is a problem on Thursday, he said, "We hope that the train will run normally."

Mentionable, in response to recent attacks, killings, and with the demand for a violence-free campus, the Anti-discrimination Student Movement around 8pm on Wednesday announced a "Complete Shutdown" across the country for Thursday.
